Where we're headed

This is a working document, not a marketing deck. When something ships, it moves into “Live now.” When something changes, a date shows up here along with a one-line “why.”

Live now

Authoring pipeline: canon → golden route → scene plan → characters → locations → step-by-step generation with memory of previous scenes

Chapters: the story is split into chapters of several scenes each. Every chapter remembers the context of the ones before it

Editor: edit dialogue, choices, locations, and characters, and regenerate any scene

Images: anime-style character sprites and scene backgrounds via Polza.ai (FLUX-2 Pro with a fallback to Seedream/Z-Image)

Viewer: cinematic transitions between scenes, ken-burns on backgrounds, smooth sprite entrances, step back (←), and a pause menu

Status hub: project completion as a percentage, plus a “generate everything missing” button with progress and a literary loader

Smart defaults: different models for different steps, auto-retry on empty LLM responses, moderation bypass for FLUX, and image cache-busting

In progress (May–June 2026)

Flexible scene count per chapter: instead of a fixed 5, the LLM decides for itself (3–8) based on how dense the plot is

Character emotions: different sprite variants for different emotions, switched by the context of each line

Story planner for non-writers: a mini-wizard for people who just want to “press one button and get a finished novel” — genre presets and structure prompts

Next (summer 2026)

Subscriptions: a free tier (1 chapter free), Hobby ($9.99/mo — several chapters), and Creator ($24.99/mo — unlimited + export). Payments via Polza Wallet (Russian cards) and Lemon Squeezy (international).

Account dashboard: view your plan, usage, and generation history

Plan limits: how many novels, images, and chapters you can create per month

Public player: a page like /play/your-novel-slug — authors share a direct link, and no sign-up is needed to read

Email re-engagement: a nudge after 3–7 days: “Chapter 3 of such-and-such novel is waiting for you”

Later (when they're ready)

Social layer: gallery, ratings, comments. Not yet — it's the “empty room problem” until we reach critical mass

Voiced dialogue: per-character TTS (ElevenLabs / OpenAI). We're waiting for people to actually ask for this to justify the cost

Sprite consistency: fine-tune a mini-model per character (LoRA) so Alara looks the same across every scene — right now each sprite is generated independently

Languages: right now it's EN + RU. Next: Spanish, Japanese, Korean. Only once we have our first paying customers in the major languages

What we're NOT building

These are questions that come up a lot — the answer is always the same:

Complex story branching in the Ren'Py style. One choice-button per scene is intentional. Authors who need a decision graph with dozens of endings are better served by Twine.

Endless free image generation. Every image costs real money. The free tier will have a ceiling.

NSFW as the core of the product. The platform won't turn into an adult-content marketplace — that's a different niche with different economics and legal ground.

Discord/forum as a feature. Communities live where they already are (Reddit, itch.io, themed Discord servers). We're not building our own.
